Allison Armagan, PharmD, Director of Clinical Strategy, Medscape
Allison Armagan holds a PharmD from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and completed a residency in drug information after graduation. A clinical pharmacist by training, she worked in academic and community hospitals for 10 years before transitioning to a role creating patient simulations for Medscape, the leading CME company in the US. While at Medscape, she worked on a team of physicians, pharmacists, and simulation learning designers crafting medical simulations for a variety of medical conditions. She has published numerous posters, given presentations on the knowledge, competence, and confidence gains associated with medical education, and was part of a team awarded the Outstanding Outcomes in CE award from the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACEHP) in 2020.
Session Synopsis:
This presentation will cover the various aspects of medical writing that go into creating a patient simulation. We will discuss the types of writing, the importance of the patient story, and best practices for researching and writing a patient case.
